Views on the Commonwealth Championships…

Nadeem Khan (NK): What were your thoughts on running in the Commonwealth Championships?

Rebecca Robinson (RR): I really enjoyed the opportunity to run in this new event, a very exciting development for mountain running and a super celebratory weekend

NK: How was this race different from your other international races?

RR: The first time I’ve competed in an international event in the UK, so it was wonderful to have so many nations represented in Cumbria, where I’m from

NK: The one thing that you will remember about these Championships…

RR: Very difficult to pick one thing, above all the camaraderie as usual on the mountains and Keswick hard to beat for the scenic backdrop

Get to know Rebecca…

NK: Most memorable athletic moment…

RR: Climbing Skiddaw in the Commonwealths this September, on a perfect sunny day, remembering many training runs up there in all weathers, and for once actually a view at the top!

NK: What is your typical training week?

RR: Fitting sessions around work, with ideally a long run out on the Cumbrian fells at weekend

NK: Your biggest supporter in your running career…

RR: Equal between coach and family

NK: Who is your first call after a major race?

RR: Coach Norman Matthews and family

NK: If you could train with a marathon celebrity, who would you pick?

RR: Would have to be Gebreselassie but doubt I would keep up for 100m!
